Default What are your must have tools/spare parts/etc that you keep on the boat just in case?

Picking my boat up in the next week or so...

Wondering what you guys consider 'must haves' as far as spare parts, tools, whatever on your boat in case of problems.

I've never owned a boat before, so I'm open to all opinions and would like to go into this minimizing my chances of getting stuck, stranded, or into a bad situation on the water.

Interested to see the differences in the kits all of you guys bring with you. Nothing should be considered too obvious- I'm a new boater.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks Mike. What do you keep all that stuff in? Do you have to worry about the spare parts getting broken when you're running that boat in the big water and s.hits getting bounced around?

Radio, Phone, Boat US tow Card, duct tape, wrench / rachet tool kit, clamps, oil, trim oil, and power steering fluid.
Added to the list. Thx.

You'll find a place for it! The step down into my cabin opens and that's like my toolbox/spare parts bin.

I need to have another whole complete identical boat to cover what I could possibly need!

all of the above but it doesn't matter.
No matter what you have, something ELSE will break!!!! I even keep a spare drive at the house hoping that logic is true.

Added: I keep a spare kill switch lanyard for those REALLY big O-chit days.......and with the addition of ethanol I now carry spare fuel filters too.

Quick Reply: What are your must have tools/spare parts/etc that you keep on the boat just in case?
