We pack more light beer on the boat than anybody I know...

wantingmore 04-08-2008 08:14 AM

If I spent on gas what I spend on beer, I'd never have the time to sit and drink the beer.

Gray Goose....a few bottles of wine for the wife...and a couple tabs...

I agree - booze is under MY influence! Its going down my throat, like it or not... :D

Bud Light and Happy Boat Drink (tm) for the crew. Busch N/A and maybe one or two "live ones" for me over the course of the day. :cool-smiley-011:

kennyo 04-08-2008 10:47 AM

I buy the biggest plastic bottles of rum and vodka you can get. My friends give me sh*t for buying the cheap stuff but they're drinking the hell out of it at the end of the day! I make some mean panty droppers that I'm famous for! Personally I take a few beers to drink.

Well, we usually role with a fully stocked bar (ya never know what a stray chickie may need), powerade, and as much Mich Light as we can fit in the cooler. But now that we are opening our own party store, things could get real fun. This is my new beer cooler, I just have to figure out how it will fit on my boat.

If its the Gladiator I carry water

If its the Pontoon boat I carry a full bar setup

Jack x2
Bacardi
Goose
Stoli
Absolute
JW Black
Capt Morgan
Tequlia

DonziChick 04-08-2008 11:28 AM

I usually have some sort of girl drink (Bacardi, Mike's etc) but I learned a couple of years ago not to bring them on a rough day or a poker run. All the bottles were sheared off at the top :(

Usually beer for Thrillseeker, Capt Morgan or Admiral Nelson and diet for me, and lots of water. I like to freeze my water bottles if we're staying for the weekend, that way they do double duty of ice and drinking water.

I had to leave it all on the floor because I left my shoes at the ramp. The coasties are all smelling the booze and thinking I am drunk tell I showed them what happened. They they had a good laugh and felt bad for me :D:D

Yup...Always seems to break, then you just have a big mess onboard!! I stick to the beer but I like to bring a big jug of the mixed stuff (whatever the flavor of the week is) for the little chickies :D:p

This is such a fascinating thread, not so much (at least for me) in the various preferences in alcoholic beverages people take on board but in the distinct lack of self-righteous, "How can you even condone booze on boats?" posts. That in and of itself is refreshing, because the "fun police" and "PC squad" usually jump on stuff like this.

On the other hand, there's an "Are we our own worst enemy thread?" going. So I'm just throwing it out there: Do threads such as this contribute to us being "our own worst enemy" in terms of public perception and relations?

Granted, this is an enthusiast message board, so its broad appeal and reach are far lower than many of us would like to be believe they are.

Just raising the question. My answer: We should be able to talk about whatever we want, and unless the law of the land prohibits us from having alcohol on board we can make our own choice. If we screw up, we should be proseuted to the fullest extent of the law. If we don't, it's a non-issue.

well, I think the simple fact that the thread is titled "what kind of booze do you KEEP on your boat" not "what type of booze do you DRINK while running your boat" is the major point here.

I think with out saying it, everyone so far has gotten the idea and no one on here would condone getting sh!tfaced while driving. Stay safe, stay legal and you're fine.

Carry on...

100-Plus 04-08-2008 04:12 PM

Thisistank,

Exactly but ... there's a whole segment of folks out there who freak when you even mention "booze" and "boats" in the same sentence.

I definitely didn't miss the distiniction in the thread title. But there's a whole lot of people who'd love to tell you not even to bring booze on your boat. And I guess what I'm wondering, actually, I guess why this thread is somewhat pleasing, is that we're not hearing from them.

Stay safe, stay legal and you're fine. Couldn't agree more.

I think the mood has changed over the last 5 years or so. Theres more boats on the water. We are under greater scrutiny from law enforcement. The likelihood of any alcohol in your blood causing problems if there is an accident.

Guess we've all just grown up! :D :D

If you want hydration try a little absolute and gatoraid.

Magic Medicine 04-08-2008 04:30 PM

Miller lite, water, pop and juice.

Nautically_Nauti 04-08-2008 04:58 PM

Jaeger and Shiner on tap, Belvedere, Patron, Crown, and Captain in the cabin bar. Lots and Lots of Water, Monster, OJ, Cranberry, Margarita mix, Mojito mix, etc.

f311fr1 04-08-2008 06:03 PM

I don't drink, so whatever my passengers want they bring.

I can't bring myself to mix anything with Goose...I prefer it straight with a couple of BC stuffed olives; but do save it for the post boating celebration...

100-Plus 04-08-2008 08:41 PM

Goose fans ... you might want to give Hangar One a try, although it's a little criminal to mix it with anything other than ice and olives.

It's made in the vodka hotbed of Alameda, Calif., and is a few bucks more than the Goose, and don't get me wrong the Goose is great. But give Hangar a try.

I think that most people realize that boating is what most of us do in our leisure time and that it is ok to consume a drink or two responsibly during that leisure time.

Plus the chicks need booze to get up the guts to go dance in their bikini's on the front of the boats!!:cool-smiley-027:
