Global Warming Anyone?????

I just read in the paper that in over 150 yrs. this is the first year that Lake Winnipesuakee has not completely frozen over!!!!!

And last year was the latest for ice out!

whaddaya think about that?

Payton 02-20-2002 06:22 PM

I think that means it was a warm winter and the only thing I will bet on is that next winter will be different.:)

Personally I'm glad. NW Indiana had record moisture in December and again in Feb. If it had been colder we would still be digging out.

It all averages out December of 2000 was the coldest in 85 years.

Global warming is BS! Just a fluke winter. Lake George didn't freeze anywhere that was safe! Lookin' forward to working on the boat and getting it dialed in!

Evil Twin 02-20-2002 09:15 PM

I Snow Plow in the non-boating season to support my boating habit. This year I don't know if I am going to get my performance fix. Sucks to be me. I do have a plan however, to slowly relocate capital from the family unit to support my habit!!!:D I know I'm addicted. I'm not going to a rehab center just yet, I can handle it!!!!

It has been a very warm wintre for only one reason I bought a freakin SNOWMOBILE, Lake george has not frozen yet and has officially frozen every year on record with the exception of 1918. Upside is the boating will officially begin TOMORROW Way cool!!!

Ironman,
I did the same thing, bought 2 sleds. I also washed my car on the way into work so you can bet it will rain today

I'll have to agree, this was/is a warm winter.

I know that Florida doesn't get cold weather like the northern states but I only had to use the heat for about two weeks this season which is unusual. I've been living here for 14 years and don't remember one this warm.

mattyboy 02-21-2002 08:21 AM

not unusual to have a warm winter, greenwood lake didn't freeze either, but I'll call it global warming when I don't have to winterize the boat!!!! and I hope next year some else buys a sled:p :D :p that's why I didn't buy one cause if I did the earth would shift on it's axis and NY would be a desert
