Is Todd OK?
Anybody heard from Todd since all the health problems of last year?
|
I assume you're talking about Todd Lahey.
Last I heard he's been doing well. He's been here and on at least one other board. Funny, he's only about 20 miles away, and I haven't met him yet. But the weather is just breaking around here. I look forward to meeting up with him. Todd?? you out there?? |
good to hear that he's still kickin'

update from March 10, 2008 Hello - we just wanted to update everyone on the test results from Seattle. We received wonderful news from Seattle. Todd's cells are now 100% donor cells. We are so relieved and thankful. The doctor's were a little concerned because when we left Seattle he was around 78% donor cells and at the one year mark he had dropped down to around 64% donor cells. So this is great news! He is continuing to decrease a few of the other medicines and still feeling great. He still sees Dr. Mannion every three weeks to check in and check on his counts. The plan now is to continue the slow taper of the medication and pray that the graft vs. host disease stays under control. We are heading back to Seattle sometime this summer for a two year checkup. Please keep my second cousin John and his family in your prayers. John was diagnosed with AML (Acute Myeloid Leukemia) in October of 2006, he was in remission after his first round of chemo and just recently relapsed. He will be under going a bone marrow transplant within the next few months. Luckily his brother Dylan is a match. Please keep my cousin Lynn, her husband Donnie, and their kids, Katie, Dylan and John all in our prayers. John also has a caring bridge site: www.caringbridge.org/visit/johnpfost Thanks for all of your love, prayers and support. Love to all! |
I am here from time to time I like to check in and see whats goign on! I have been getting back to work and trying to start to lead a normal life again but I still dont have my strength back. I spend alot of time sleeping but I am getting there. I still am fighting the graft versus host and take about 21 pills a day to keep that in check (hey its down from the 68 at this time last year)
I guess it is not to bad of a time not to have a boat with twin blower motors with gas the way it is! Ha ha I know for some of you gas is the cheapest thing but for guys like me that did everything ourselves gas was a big expense back when it only cost 450.00 to fill up :) |
Good to hear from you Todd
|
Tood,
Great to see you on OSO again, sounds like you are getting better everyday!:D Dean |
Todd - I promise ya we'll spend a day on the water sometime this summer in my boat.
At the rate I'm going, it may not be until July, but none the less...:D |
I hope all is going well with Todd, my youngest son (23) was diagnoised with AML 3 yrs ago and we have been in and out of remission all the way. We have just had day 100 after a BMT ( his oldest brother was a match ) and he is showing 100% donor cells. We will put Todd in our prays and hope ever thing is going well .

Sorry to hear that Dave. Prayers to your family.

The latest from Todds Blog,
Good to hear from you Todd.... December 4, 2008 Right now we are scheduled to head back to Seattle on June 16, 2009. But we are going to play it by ear. They said if he seems to be feeling good and there are no concerns we will not need to come out and we can just have a phone conference. But if there are questions or concerns we can head back. We are planning on staying in touch with the Long Term Follow Up Department by phone to keep them updated. They did not test for the BCR-ABL (the CML protein) this trip. They will check this again in June by blood. The last check (June 2008) showed zero Leukemia cells!! Thanks for all of the prayers and support. This continues to be a journey for us but we are so thankful to have so many wonderful people who care about us. We will keep you updated as the taper begins. Please continue send us your prayers and good thoughts as we continue to battle!! Love to all! |
Dave
Glad to here that things are going good for your son!! The few people that I have met that have had siblings as donors are doing very good!! Things keep trucking along for me I keep trying to get over the graft vs host! They tell me sooner or later it will happen! The side effects from the meds that I take to keep it under control are the pain right now it is much better to deal with this than the alternative! Thanks For all the support!! |
Todd
Are you still hanging out with Alan and Doug? This spring you west siders will have to come over to Anderson and let me take you out on the river! Brent |
Yeah I guess you could say that!
I see Doug every day now he is actually working for us now. Allan is doing well married over the summer and expecting a baby this summer! Let me know we would love to get out! |
Are you and Allan still racing?
|
No Allan sold his boat and I had to get rig of mine before I had the bone marrow transplant.
It was a god time though. I only made it out on the river once this year and to Cumberland twice on friends boats. I am currently mostly boatless except for a little old fishing boat. |
