Default Beware, Scammers Are Targeting Oso

The following is a bogus offer for my truck in the classifieds. Look this scam up on snopes and it will explain how it works. Basicly they send a forged cashiers check. Go to the bottom of the page to see the emails in order.

Good Day
Thanks very much for your email, The reason I am sending you this email is
to make final reconfirmation of the (Price) and also to let you know that
payment will be by check. In view of this I need you to email me any
information that may be required to send the check, as I do not want to send
the check to a wrong location lest they gets into the wrong hands.Regarding
the shipping, I have a company that takes care of the pick up of my
consignments for me and ship to my destination anywhere in the U.S.A, you
do not worry about shipping, the company will send down a representative
to arrange the sales documentation and the pickup from your end for
onward transfer to my destination.I also want to alert you on the fact that
you will be recieving an overdraft check, which will cover the money for the
pickup (pickup and shipping to the final destination) as well as the money to
be paid to the company that will take care of the pickup and the Items with
you. So please, as soon as you receive the check, go and cash
them immediately, deduct the money that accrues to you, and send the
balance to the Head Office of the company that handles the shipment via the
nearest WesternUnion agent in your area.Deduct the Western Union charges
from the balance and send the remaining immediately .
The check will be in your name to make it easier for you to receive
payment, deduct your money and send the balance via Western Union as
regards my earlier direction, please reconfirm your details one more time. I
will give you the details of the Agent that you will send the balance of the
money to once I get a reply and agreement that you will send the money via
Western Union money transfer immediately you cash the check.Once the
money is received by the agent, the shipping agent willcontact you
immediately to arrange the documentation as well as the pick up
immediately. So in view of the above, here are some of the details I will need
for final issuance of the check to you.
(1) Full Name.................
(2) Mailing address, no p.o.box
please...................
(3) your direct telephone number ..................
(4) acceptance of my offer .....................
Once you get back to me with all the above, thecheck will be issued out
immediately and it will be sent to you . Hope to hear from you immediately

I'm doin great, thanks. My asking price is 27500 although I will entertain any reasonable offer. Thats 4500 less than the blue book. I'm in no big hurry to sell and as its only been listed a short while, I expect more inquiries and offers. If you want it right now, then a certified check for 27500 would do fine. I will send more pics if you want but the only thing thats changed is the mileage. Thank you for the interest. Casey

Like I said in the post that was dumped...to get back at the scammers instead of getting all mad...play the scammer to the hilt. Do whatever it takes to keep him going while you sit back and laugh...then tell them after you are tired of playing with them that you changed your mind or that you sold it to someone else for more money...also from the UK.

My brother did that with someone trying to scam him when he was trying to sell his jeep. He had him send the fake check then told him he never got it. Then he told him he got it but decided he wasn't going to send the "extra" money back. He got so pissed off! He sent my bro a "curse" via email.

Sadly someone from abroad might also be seriously looking for a boat (like me).
But you can always state that the boat is not CE approved and that immidately ends all as a boat which isnīt CE approved and certified isnīt not allowed an entry past customs unless itīs a raceboat.
So presto no second hand powerboats if not raceboats or sold as such and also tagged as such canīt be imported.
And it doesnīt help if a similar one is approved..the boat in question has to be with its serial number stated in the CE certificates.
