I may come up friday night or i will launch in clear lake early sat morning to anchor out in the bay.

gerritm 04-30-2008 01:56 PM

We will be out Saturday morning around 10-11am. I am wondering if Redfish will be a good place to anchor. Probably too far away. I know they are going to try to line the course with boats to keep strays out.

I would like to anchor as close as possible. I guess we need to know where the course is exactly.

When you leave Kemah to the bay, you will stay to the right and run along the coast (stay far away from coast though). You will eventually come to the HL&P intake canal. There is a public park there that you can see the park from the bay. Right out in front will be spectator parking. Patrol boats will tell you where to park - you don't want to park in the course!!!! It's probably about 3/4 of the way from Kemah to April Fool Marina on the right. TH

Thanks, I know exactly where that is.

Griswald 04-30-2008 02:39 PM

There's a map of the course on the TOC website.

I would launch on the south side underneath the Kemah bridge.

The engines are way smoother at top in than they were originally. I still say that confirms my thoughts all along that the lifters were faulty. They also run up more rpm's than original. They needed the severe duty Crane lifters. I hear Cat Killer is coming with Mr. Reggie himself!

Dueclaws 05-01-2008 08:29 AM

Tommy-
Jo & I will be there along with our new neighbors and their friends. But we'll be on shore though. :(
John

THLWL 05-01-2008 02:25 PM

Just heard that test & tune for Friday has been canceled since they couldn't set up due to high winds. However, poker run is getting big though. TH

Griswald 05-01-2008 02:30 PM

What will that do for the timing of the run on Saturday?

p.s. we're loading up and heading out in about an hr.

They said there are soooooo many boats entered that they will begin running early 9 to 10 a.m. and then it will probably still take all day to run. Should be a fun time.

bglz42 05-04-2008 06:54 AM

TXRiverrat, what do you have in Keels?

I've got my yellow 1970 Donzi in the show... stop by and intro yourself!

Man I hate that I had to miss the big fast-boat stuff! Timing on these two events SUCKED!:(

But I had a front row set for the festivities around the Turtle from my flybridge parked at Lakeside! Yesterday was amazing!

I work for AROD Mercedes Benz full time..... the dealership was one of the title sponsors of the event -

Unfortunately I was only around Sat morning setting up - then back to the river to the river to finish rigging a 32 AT - then ran the river yesterday. Stop by the store if you're ever around and ask for Capt Ross - I'll be more than happy to give ya the grand tour!!!

bglz42 05-05-2008 09:08 AM

Thanks Cap! I'm already a two-time customer. Great dealership! I'm one of the many that get a call from Mendel on my birthday!:cool-smiley-026:

He he! I was wondering if that was you! I've been to your parts counter way more than I like to admit! (I have an E430 and recently bought a CL500, so I'm pretty regular!)

I'll shake your hand next time I'm in!
