Here is the website that tells about the Segway.
Initially, Segway Human Transporter (HT) will be available for commercial customers in industries such as package delivery, tourism, and public safety. Release for consumers is projected for late 2002.

the technology is cool i guess but that thing is kind of retarted. I can just imagine what an NYC sidewalk will look like with a 1000 people riding around on those things. Mayeb ifthey got rid of the big wheel chair wheels and they had less of a "gimp transport" look to them they would be cooler.

My question: Is walking really that difficult?
