I remember a while back powerboat mag tested a 26? sportboat with a hopped up duramax diesel that was getting 6+mph at cruise speeds. Think it was an Eliminator but dont remember specifics .

My boat I have never even done the math, it would probably depress me,..

The gas is the cheap part. I has a set of 600's that pegged the monitors at WOT and they stopped at 65/gal/hr each

It is indeed.

For reference what is the tab on those engines fully marinized like you have them in the boat?

for that price you could get some yanmar diesels and probably have similar performance and even better mpg.

Here diesel is less than super, and he said his motors were 30K each same as Yanmars.

Might have similar mpg, but the performance would not even be close.

I get 2.0mpg running 55-57mph @ 3500rpm with my 598ci N/A, pushing about 750hp. I have no clue what it burns at WOT 6000rpms though. and I would probably cry if I did know.
