Me and the crew are pretty excited. First time to do JAX! See you all next Thursday!
|
Where is the boat ramp anyways.? Where is everyone staying?. I got storage space near by... well about 7-8 miles.
I would love to have the OSO members say hi. I might recognize some of the boats but not the owners. :) I know some great spots in Jax. (I go there for bus. all the time) if anyone interested, besides down town. TTT |

WOW.. I didn't realize that the river is flowing so fast. Pretty strong current front of the Hyatt. I was there last night for business and took a stroll on the river front Can't wait for the run and can't wait for the boat to get ready.

Should be a great run to FERNANDINA fri. morn. Be sure to watch for subs in the port and obey all rules. This will be covered in the capt. meeting. |
Also, Don't forget us for you detailing needs while you're there. My crew will be in Wednesday and working over at Bill Jr's Shop and also under the bridge by the Hyatt. Call me when you're coming in and I'll let you know the best place to drop.

The USCG enforces the Naval Vessel Protection Zone inside US territiorial waters. What this means really is they can either shoot at you or just shue you off, come to your house later and give you a really big fine and jail if the case warrants. The reason we use the USCG for the NVPZ is their law enforcement role vice just shooting. They take there jobs really seriously. BTW the 3 engine RHIB's they use can do 60+ knots. Not much compared to a skater but sure keeps them in range of the 50 cal mount. It you are up by the St Mary's inlet and see the SSBN's coming in or out (easy to tell because they are escorted by more and much larger ships), the big USCG ship has much more powerful and accurate weapons. Best bet is to stay greater than 2NM away and all will be good. Should still be able to snap a few shots.:evilb: |
