Talk to rollwithit. His family owns a marina on the ohio river in Pittsburgh. I went to visit last year and its a nice place to do some boating as well as be able to tie up and party.

Greensburg's about an hour from Pittsburgh towing a boat. There's a ramp on 18th Street on the south side where I've launched my 342 so it can handle larger boats; the streets are just really tight down there. Jason (rollwithit) has a ramp at his marina in the west end, I believe, but I've never been there.

There aren't many places to launch boats around Pittsburgh, unfortunately, considering there are 3 rivers around the city.

Watch out for the dams. And the crap floating under the surface.

River boating is better than, say, the offshore boating available in Montana- but not by a whole bunch. Gets dull pretty quickly. If I were you, I'd find a spot to store it up by Erie. I'd rather have one really good boat outing a month than one lackluster one a week.

Check out www.boatpittsburgh.com Its a local site for boating in and around Pittsburgh. Not only do we have the three rivers, but there are also some good lakes to go boating on. As mentioned before, you might even want to keep your boat at a marina or storage facility near Pittsburg or another body of water to cut down on the tow time. If you got any questions, hit me up. I can try to help you with any information you need.

And Chris... I'll remember that.. We dont do lackluster boating in Pittsburgh... :D:D But you do have to look out for the dams.. Already had one boat go over this year. Talk about a heck of a demo ride.
