Small cat insurance

How much is annual insurance premium on a small cat (25-28 ft) with relatively mild power (500 -800 hp)?

If under 500 hp each motor, registered in Arizona, Stored in Arizona and you have a good driving record and over 35......it's very affordable. Like under 1,000 for my 28 w/ twin 496 power.

Insurance companies don't consider anything over 500hp as "relatively mild power". A stock 496 would probably be a breeze to insure. Any engine with blue paint on it and you're going to run into some aggravation or added expense, or both.

My understanding is if you don't have prior cat ownership even something mild (actually mild like a HO) will still be $4K-ish, and may require a class.

I would like to find out otherwise though.

don't try and insure it for FL. Hardly any one wants to touch my boat with twin 496 mag ho's. Well let me say resonably.

Well remember, the 500efi is rated 470 at the prop, that what I sent my insurance company, under 500 BABY. Just my 2 cents.:evilb:
