You were exactly right with your comment about us running north of where we should be. We found that by steering a course to the north some, we got a better ride than doing a straight line for Punta Cancun. The idea then was to go around the north tip of Isla Mujeres and then we would run south west to Punta Cancun in waters that were protected from the east winds. The attached photo of our Garmin plotter shows our track line doing just that.
When we reached the marker at Isla Mujeres we activated Spot as well as when we reached RF's finish point. These two points did not show up on the Spot track as that was in the period of time that Spot crashed.
Anyway it was fun and thank you for you contribution.
Bob

You and your team are the ones that need to be thanked!

Trying to keep up with you, plotting your location and calculating distance to go, was a blast. It was however; one of my least productive days in my office, in a long long time.

It was so much fun, thanks!
So what is our next mission?

I Can't wait to meet you and shake the hand of a world record holder!!

After all you are the brother-in-law of my second cousin.

Which makes you my new favourite uncle!!

San Francisco to LA ( Larry Smith, Scarab record ) + Chicago to Detroit ( Chuck Norris record ). Both average speeds were in the low 60's I believe.

Don't want to get too far ahead of ourselves here as we have some work to do yet. Also it would have to wait till next year. We have a full summer ahead starting with Boyne Thunder in a month. Lets get this done first and we will see where we go from here.

Bob
