Drive oil question
What viscosity is best in a Bravo 1? I have used Sierra Synthetic forever, and thought I might try Royal Purple since I use their Racing 51 Oil. I have looked on the Seirra jugs and there's no weight rating and there web-site was no help. R.P. has three weight ratings on there gear oil, just trying to decide which would be best, so I'm calling on the power of OSO!!:D
Thanks, Mitch |
I'm pretty sure Joe and Wayne and the Sunsation factory use the AMSOIL Marine Gear Lube. That is what I use in my 32 MCOB SS

I have a 1992 Bravo one. I have not been nice to it. It's never needed any work. It had a 454 mag driving it. For the last 4 years it has a 496 HO on it. I have never used anything but the Mercrusier green HP outdrive lube. I'd say 16 years is a pretty good statement as to the quality of the Mercrusier stuff.
