Think about it.
Americans shouldn't complain about gas prices. This
is the end game of years of electing liberal environment
oriented politicians who maneuvered to block drilling
and refinery building. Americans have gotten what
they elected. All the greenies should be loving it.
Now me, I come from an era where strength was
represented at least in part from as much self sufficiency
as possible. That certainly no longer seems like the American
agenda. Quite the opposite with all this globalism and
trying to feel good with countries that are always going
to hate you no matter what you do.
Problem is, I don't see any politicians on the horizon who
offer the slightest chance of hope. Certainly not the pathetic
collection shaping up right now.

I was amazed at how packed our local pond was yesterday. Temp was about 90 degrees and sunny, but the damn wind was out of the Southwest at 25 MPH with gusts well into the 30's. She was whitecapping big time. We've also had so much rain that the water looks like chocolate milk. Still, the lake was just packed and people weren't just anchored up. So far, $4 gas is not keeping folks off the water.

I did not think it would be this bad, didnt think it would be such a broad spectrum...
Ed mcmahon is in foreclosure.
We are personaly stuck with a bunch of Real estate in the bay area and a house we are intending on keeping in Tahoe Ca.
The life here in Puerto Vallarta is far superior, gallon gas 2,55 Diesel 2.05 gallon, Groceries going out etc etc are far less..
property taxes on our current value 450k $ 260.- per yr! Yeah 260- ,,,
Its not over regulated like in the us,
I have 38 ft bayliner not a great boat but its nice here and a 35 ft sailboat we race few times per yr,
I am still looking for a small single 27 to 29,,
I miss the 35 fountain, but would not want blower motors here.

I am so sick of people making that statement!!! Yes, in Europe fuel is twice as much, but thats how they
fund all thier social programs. Their property taxes are like 100 bucks a year instead of 10k. Also
most countries have socialized medicine in Europe. Here,(you) or your employer pays which has
a direct affect on wages. Apples to Oranges.

You want government run healthcare? be careful for which you wish. If you think it is equal to good private care, you are sadly misinformed.

No, they control their people with their gas taxes. They pay for their social programs with the 50-70% INCOME Tax rates for the average Joe. Property taxes are low only because so few actually own anything worth taxing. 70% home ownership here, what 30% in Europe?

go to Chit. I'm just saying that people often compare our prices to Europe. Its not the same social
system.
