That is in good shape. You can see the water beading up.

And the lifeline down the center of the boat is a perfect white.

Has that been painted? I don't remember seeing any with the top of the bow painted.

I would say 15k Easy. Location might be a little problem unless you would like to deliver it to Nebraska for me.:D

Wow, are they actually bringing 15k? No, it's never been painted. It's all original gel coat. Although she does have a few dock scars here and there but not bad.

He also stated in the very same sentence that it was a Mag. It can't be both. Only reason I bring this up is a buddy of mine bought an older Stingray boat that was advertised as having the Mag motor (air cleaner said Mag) His engine builder found out later it was the 330 horse version and it turned into a legal hassle. Just trying to help.....

*Yes, if it's a 1987 454 Magnum it is a 330 hp motor from the factory.*I 'll try my best to explain the history of the 454 Magnum as I bought several of these new back in 1987-88*
Back in 1987, the first 454 package was mated with an Alpha One drive. This was called the 454 Magnum. Mine has the original 454 Magnum flame arrestor lid. It was a 330 hp motor. This new package allowed builders of boats designed for small block packages, maximun cockpit space etc, to now offer big block power as an option.* Before this 454 Alpha combo, the only way to get a big block power was with a TRS package. The 454/Alpha package was a one year only gig. * The Bravo One drive was introduced in 1988.* The previous 454 Magnum 330 hp version was now called the 7.4 Bravo One package.* The motor that was previously referred to as the 370 (only offered with a TRS) was then mated to a Bravo and was labled the 454 Magnum of 365 hp.*

Hope this helps clear any confusion but if your bud bought a 1987 454 Magnum, there was no need for lawyers to get involved. Someone did not do their homework. :party-smiley-004:

'87 only Merc called the 330hp a 454 Magnum and mated it to an Alpha drive.

*Oops! Just read your post.

Looks very nice I would think you should have no problem selling it. From what I have seen the under 20k used are selling and then it jumps to the, well you know HUGHE bucks and everything inbetween not so good. Good luck very nice.

you may be right that was a long time ago but i do know that the first had the alpha drive were call mag. and the first that had the bravo were 7.4 i still think the 365 came a little later. we had a bunch of stingrays around here and all 87's had alpha with 330 mag. and the 88's had bravo with 330 7.4 . a good frind of mine ordered the first 222 with the 365 mag in it and i woma say it was a 89 all red boat i think it ran around 71 where the 330 's ran 64 the pachangas were faster with the alpha drive until the 365 came out then we could go by them. then we started putting big power in the 222 and they would fly. also searay stayed with the alpha for awhile after the bravo came out for some reason i never did understand why
