Yes, it does emulsify.
Some good info on merc hp oil, most think it is fully sythetic...apparently its not. From another site: "I did some more digging and appears that the High Performance miracle green fluid is nothing more or nothing less than overpriced pseudosynthetic, group 3, GL-5 gear oil. Proof: 1. MSDS states that the base oil is Refined Petroleum. This is just dino oil. The CAS number provided (64742-01-4) is for the solvent treated and/or hydrocracked oil also know as pseudosynthetic (and known in Europe as semisynthetic) or group 3." http://www.brunswicktechteam.com/upl...8/041-4704.pdf and Update: I found more info on CAS 64742-01-4 and guess what. It's not group 3. The High-Performance is a plain dino oil with probably solid additive package (Molybden?). Shouldn't be surprising though as Merc never claimed it being synthetic. The plot thickens. Reference on CAS 64742-01-4: http://iaspub.epa.gov/srs/srs_proc_q..._SUB_ID=341305 I'm not an expert I just don't think the Merc oil is a bad choice and no matter what water in the drive is a bad thing! I just believe under that circumstance you stand a better chance with an oil that will mix with the water whatever brand it may be. |
I have not seen where it says it does or does not on any of the litature. But if you mix the amsoil marine gear lube 75/80-90 with some water in a jar and shake it, it turns to a mix, then once it settles, seperates. There description for the marine gear lube says it works extremely well with 10% water mix.
On there site it is located under "gear lubricants" |

That store pisss me off. They are double the price of any other marine dealer in my area for just about anything. But they do stock allot of the little things you may not want to wait for in the mail if no one else has them.
