Default 2007 44 MTI mercedes boat on ebay

OK...am i missing something here...the 2007 44 MTI mercedes boat on ebay says it cost $1.4 million to build....but now with refreshened sterlings with 23 hrs on them....I can now buy this boat for $580,000....I really love the way the MTI's look....but would a Skater lose half of its original build cost in 1 year....

I think this boat has been on the market for a while now. Owner may just want to move it faster now, may have nothing to do with what it is really worth.

Plus I feel like those specialty/theme boats appeal to such a small crowd, that in order to move it you need to drop the price to make it appealing to someone that may have plans to re-do it.

The big cat market is always tough. I'm sure Gino just wants it to move quick, probably has another boat already in the mix. As much as I hate to say it, a big Skater would do the same. Look at some of them in the classifieds........Double Take has been for sale for a looong time. There is barely a spec of dust on it and is still not moving. After all the work I have done to mine it is almost 98% new, but I wouldn't get anywhere close to what I have into it!!!

It appears MTI is stamping out a lot more 39-44 MTIs.

Skater has building boats since 1979. Yet there is 1/4 the amount of 40 Skaters For sale as the 39 to 44 MTIs which take your pic lots of them are for sale. Double Take is huge and can't really can not be compared to a 44 MTI which is far smaller then a 46 Skater.

2002 and newer MTI 39-44 13 boats for sale on OSO

2002 and newer 40 Skater 4 boats for sale on OSO

Gino didn't build that boat...Stu Hayim did ...and Stu took the big "hit" on depreciation already..... I think 580 is about what the second owner (gino?) paid for it.....In addition the second owner had some "sponsorship" deal with Mercedes which probably offset some cost.

You will not lose as much with a Skater in all probability.... and you won't dump it on the market as fast either.......

Buy a Skater........ to spend as much money for an ungainly "pop" is absurd.

Do "theme" boats take a harder hit?

On all boats irregardless of what they are you take 2 hits. One when you buy and one when you sell.
