Do you know from experience?

Since my daily tools are Snap On, thats what I have in the tool bag.. If it goes overboard because your junker broke and I'm bailing your broke down butt out of another jam, you either dive for it or pay for the replacement :) :)

Basics in the tool bag: Sockets, wrenches up to 7/8, screwderdoers, test light, spare ign switch.. Leatherman is always on my belt, fixes 97% of the problems we run into it seems..

Chris Sunkin 06-07-2008 09:52 AM

Wrench set- 1/4 to 7/8, sockets, 3/8 drive, same sizes. Screwdrivers, pliers, vice grips, Volt/ohm meter. Crimping pliers. Butane torch. Magnet, inspection mirror. Just as important are the parts- filters, plugs, belts, impellers, tape, sandpaper, wire & crimp-ends, shrink tube. I even have a couple rocker arms and springs. Handful of common fasteners. All in a waterproof Pelican box. I always bring duplicates of the most common things- I have a habit of dropping things in the bilge and overboard. I've sent enough 1/2 and 9/16 wrenches overboard to stock a Sears hardware department.

and...

DUCT TAPE and TIE WRAPS!!

Never hurts to bring extra coozies, and a spare bottle opener. Ideally, a floating bottle opener!

OK, I carry a 3/8 square driver handle (looks like a screwdriver handle with 3/8 male end) to use with sockets that covers the 5/16 for hose clamps.. What's the 5/16 allen for? My torque tab is 3/8 hex...
