Valve Cover Breather Recommendations
Anyone have any recommendations on Valve Cover Breathers. I have the cheap Mr. Gasket ones and they tend to leak which tends to run down the valve cover and end up in the Bilge. I want some Filtered ones - need them to go up and angle properly so they sit straight up. Any Recommendations??
I believe I have the Gen IV valve covers, the ribbed ones with the push in breather hole that points straight out at a 45 degree angle. Don't want a puke tank at this point. |
I don't think you would want a catch can, are you NA or boost?

Conservative Blowers....

Even with the expensive ones , igot the same thing going on.
My enginebuilder told me thats normal. |

To me the puke tank made a bunch of diff!! I don't even get that crank case oil smell anymore when ya run it hard.Every filter/breather iv seen and had leaked on the valve cover. This tank is 79. at Peterson. It has a baffle plate and foam in it.
Also all the small breather/puke tank with the chrome filter on top Ive seen leak and blow oil out. I have some more picks |

Unless you put in a puke tank you can expect to keep cleaning it up.

Does peterson have a web page ?
But also i heard if you install a overflow tank ,that the press. in the crankcase builds up more and you can breake the engine faster ?! |

I had this one on the Scarab at 12psi, you could smell the oil and see the steam come out of the K&N breather on it.http://www.petersonfluidsys.com/Photos/brecansm.jpg The big lines (#12) lets the oil separate from the blowby also the take will separate it. I had a 3/8 line going to a K&N this is the way Whipple did it, it would blow oil every were. Once I put the tank on it no oil vapor coming out of it and I don't have that burnt oil smell coming from it anymore:drink:you could do the tank a nd get them to put hose barbs and run rubber hose or something like it to make it cheaper, the #12 stuff like I did is expensive. Like I said the tank is only 79 and they will make it in ant configuration of fittings, hope this helps |
