Kaama, just re-read your post, and I think the launch you mentioned in Greilickville is probably the same one Im talking about, so it sounds like you may have been there. My boat is only a 24, so Ive never paid a huge amount of attention to wiggle room to launch, other that I have seen some big boats going in and out.

Fireworks

I'll be on Torch Lake Friday the 4th for their fireworks. We have been to the airshow 3 times and have always had to anchor out in the bay. Are you right on the beach and if so are you the west side of the bay? We will definately be there depending on the weather which is at this time suppose to be sunny.

Is that 25 miles up around mission point to the West bay?

If you want both Torch and TC then Elk Rapids would be a good spot. Unfortunately torch is not accessible from East Traverse Bay. But like Perfect says the two launches are only minutes apart. If youv'e not been in Torch, you should check it out. There is nothing like the water there. It is beautiful like the Caribbean, Aqua color. ( not that I'ld been to the caribbean)

But then Charlevoix is awesome Too.

Shawn,

Out of E.R. you have to go out around Old Mission Marker, Depending on how straight you drive your boat it might be 30 miles. I'll either be in my 38' PQ or a Blue 38 Donzi ZX See you there.

It looks sunny up there now, based on the Record-Eagle's West Bay webcam, on top of the Holiday Inn:

Maybe you can anchor down there during the air show and wave to all of us! :drink:

Also when I went last time there was a radio station that anounced play by play. I was wondering what station?

The Cherry festival 800# says the show starts at 1pm and they close off the Bay at noon. However a call to the coastguard says they close off the bay at 11am. Probably better safe than sorry.

The announcers will be on AM 580 WTCM.

Wrink You still online Or traveling? Where in the bay do you think you'll be?
I've been told that just right of the holiday Inn is good (lookin @ shore from lake). But He77 I dunno. I'll be coming from Charlevoix Too. Just trying to point my Northport Buds in the direction.
