With all the different Poker Runs I've done, I don't ever recall seeing official sweep boats. A race course, which for the most part, is a contained oval, which is easier to manage with sweep boats. agreed.......I was at 1000 Islands a few yrs back and there were some sweep boats trying to keep spectator boats back....didnt go so well.....some would give the guy the finger etc or a bunch of attitude......after the guy would go by lots of them would just go back to crowding the course.......maybe an actual Police or CG boat would have had better luck
Alot of these people in their Monteray bowrider with a 4.3 and 10 people on board have no idea just how fast the lead boats actually go (Im like "get the f*ck BACK!") and that the first few go by one or two by two but then there is a huge pack that follows that are 3 and 4 wide.......kinda scary
