this is the same system that was in Austons formula 357 except he had more power, more tweeters and more subs with another amp. He had 3 batteries in addition to his two starting batteries and said he could play all day long at dripping and most of the night at the dock and just let it recharge overnite.. did you ever hear it? it was incredible.

Never heard it. I just find it hard to believe he could play that long on 3 batteries. Build it and try it. Worse case, you add more batteries or a gen when you can only play music for 45 minutes.

according to that link that you posted, the Golf Cart batteries may be the way to go. They are square vs rectangle so they take up a deeper footprint but not wider. Ive got a phone call in to our local golf cart dealer to get a price on 3 of these 6v batteries. My concern is my charger. How do I use my 3-bank charger on 3 6v golf cart batteries?

awesome. good info. i think ill go with 4 6v batteries in series with a bank on each set. This will allow me to put the batteries under the rear seat still (i think)

Try the link below, it gives a calculator for checking the power required to power a car amp. Maybe it will help. You really only need to wiorry about RMS power, not peak power, peak power only happens for extremely short individual notes.

Im changing a few things around in the system to lower the amps. Ive gone from 4 subs to two with half the power on those and should be able to run my tweeters off of an amp thats already there so that takes one more amplifier out of the equation.. Is 1/0 power and ground to 4 gauge distribution block 6" from amps sufficient?
