berns29scarab 06-22-2008 09:22 PM

to damn funny

jhiguy377 06-23-2008 05:30 PM

bern, are thinking the same thing as me? REAL 8 footers? 90mph?

Chris Sunkin 06-23-2008 05:52 PM

They may have been 8 feet apart.

TexomaPowerboater 06-23-2008 05:57 PM

LOL, I thought this was the baja thread at first. Its gonna take a lot more than some fancy fiberglass to get that boat up to 90 in 6-8's. I was good to do 40-50mph in the 4's I saw on Texoma a few weeks ago. That really put things into perspective for me.

Here's the how I figure wave heights: I take what I think it is when running, divide by 2 and round down. That's usually close to what the weather buoys report when I look them up after I get home ;)

6 to 8's? . . . . 90? . . . . in a 30? . . . . uhmmm . . . i dont think so. I've hit the century mark plus in a 38 in race conditions in 3's maybe 4's. Beyond that your gonna need a lot of boat and there is no substitute for wave span, sorry but i have to be a little skeptical of the claim.

Really? I take what I think they are when running and then add one foot every time I tell the story!:D:evilb:

A Stingray could do it. ;)

DirtyMoney 06-23-2008 08:50 PM

The prop would not be in the water long enough to maintain 90.

I talked to the guy at the Atlanta boat show, was blowing smoke there too.Says he could outrun any other boat on the water.I told him I had a Skater "want to race"..... end of conversation:D

That's freakin' funny!

We were there that weekend running a 42 Tiger. We were parked next to his boat at Islamorada while it was vapor locked and they couldn't get it started.

We ran to key west for the weekend and boated around. I would have a hard time believing this boat (or any 30' boat) did 90 in those conditions on top of the fact I was there and don't recall seeing any 6-8's:rolleyes:

But hey, boats for sale and the story sounds good so thre ya go.
