Attendance has been down at all of the runs that we have done this year.

BAJA WILL 06-23-2008 11:52 AM

I'm trying to help Guys. In a few weeks I'll go on my first Poker Run ever. (with the big boats at least). I have a simple mission - Safely Finish the Boyne Thunder.

Atlantic City NJPPC was right on Target as last year.

berns29scarab 06-23-2008 12:30 PM

i know NYC was WAY DOWN...and NJPPC as Frank said was right on target

Queenie 06-23-2008 12:33 PM

Our local run a week ago had 2 more boats than last year's run.

In general, boating is down in our area. Traffic is nothing like it was last summer.

JB4Boyne 06-23-2008 01:00 PM

We already have more boats registered then we have ever had. And we still have 3 weeks to go.

Marine Toys 06-23-2008 02:37 PM

We have to make more room , at 96 making room for 150

Looking real good right now But.....

Chuck 06-23-2008 03:56 PM

From what I have seen it has gone down about 1/3 since early last year.

PARADOX 06-23-2008 04:33 PM

I think the smaller runs will be smaller and the bigger runs will be bigger.
Boaters will pick the runs a bit more carefully. I missed Sarasota, and a few others but for different reasons.
Planning to go to LOTO, Destin and KW.

I think what it comes down to is what Poker Runs are filling the need? To many Poker Runs and what I am seeing is the Best are staying strong. I have cut down myself after awhile the math just dosen't work $750 for the run $1200 Fuel $250 or better for a hotel, getting there, Trailering! fuel for the truck and if the run isn't that great just a waste of time. NY was one of my favorite runs years ago but it needs a change, drag racing up the river and back is getting old.
Atlantic City well thats Atlantic City, great run inside, outside you have the choice and lets face it the Casino, the bars, Hooters, The clubs all at your finger tips.
My choice runs are NJPPC AC Run
1000 Ilands Poker Run
Rock The Bay Poker Run
Barnegat Bay NJPPC "Cheap Run" with a beach party at the end.
Miami Boat Show Poker Run Islamorada in Feb.

ReggieRaft 06-23-2008 06:35 PM

I think there were more boats at NYC this year than last year by 16 boats. And AC has a 50 boat limit and had 56. My next poker run is a jet ski run this weekend (don't count) After that only plan to go to Glen Cove run in sept. Any other depend on $$.

bjablonski 06-23-2008 06:38 PM

Oshkosh thunder had about 35- 40 boats..about half of last year
