Default Accident - 3 fatalities - lake Ontario

Apparently a 23' baja outlaw hit a pier head-on at 2am. 3 passengers killed, driver in serious condition - another 2 passengers with minor injuries. Not to many details right now. Really bad.

What is it about taking due care at night when visibility is so poor?

Another night collision! How many does that make so far? Four? Five?

I really think people just need to park their boats at night unless:

1) You are sober, rested, and alert
2) You have the equipment to do it, such as Radar, IR vision, chart plotter, etc.
3) You are traveling very, very slowly

How about that crash analysis? "Speed may have contributed to the crash. The speed limit within 100 feet of the pier is 5 miles per hour." Ah, sounds like navigation error to me.

My condolences to all those involved.

Michael

It was a newly purchased boat, and several girls from a bachelorette party.

Unbelievable, and our condolences to the families and loved ones.

Its an utter shame especially since this tragedy was totally preventable. Keep it tied to the dock.

Read about this earlier. Prayers go out to the family.

Read that one girl was a bridesmaid for a wedding on Saturday. So sad.

Bad year so far. Maybe it's just easier to hear about these things with the internet and all but I agree- so unnecessary.
