Shogrens 09 47 @ Chicago Poker run
3 Attachment(s)
Well, I just got the word from Scott Shogren that his new 09 47 Fountain will probably make its first appearance, straight from the factory to Chicago, and hit the water at our 4th annual Chicago Poker run this july 18 & 19th at East Chicago Marina.
This new boat will sport a pair of Sterling 1200 HP EFI engines with the no. VI drives. I have added a few pics of this new boat, but these pics are a bit old, and there has been much progress since these pics were taken. I'm gonna leave it up Scott, if he might want to update these pics as progress is being accomplished. Here's a few for now. |

That's really nice of you to think of me like that Frankie! :D In a way, I'd be better suited...my Fountain still has LEFT hand throttles...you'd have to adjust! |
I am surprised that mercury would allow another brand of power in a fountain.

Why would they care? When it breaks they can point it out and say if it was our 1200's then the boat would still be running. My guess is the Sterlings are a whole lot cheaper than the Merc 1200's and will run on pump gas/ Merc 1200's need higher octane. |
Big Red!!
Frank,
Maybe I should have you and Mike S switch out since he already knows how to drive a red boat. The boat was ordered with 525's and 6's, the Sterlings run on pump gas. Shogren |

Nice...Do I see the Whipple 305's on top those Sterlings?
|
Mark,
I don't think Scott will let you take the 305's... Rick |

Mike, now THAT'S funny. :evilb: We all know I switched the throttles in my Fountain to the right side, but you'd be pretty surprised on how quickly I got adjusted to Bill Taylors 47/1075 boat when I drove it at Sarasota last year. And' his 42 with the Merc 1000's that I ran at Shogrens Windy City Poker run a few years back. :D |
If you are still looking for drivers I might be able to find time!!!!!
|
Can't wait to see that 47'.

I would think that Cig would do the same, would'nt you? If they would'nt, then maybe they're just not that custom. |
If that's the case, Frankie...just let me know when I can buy those 525s from ya!

Lipship still orders a few Cigarettes with custom power if the buyer wants it. |

Cigarette's don't have to have Merc, but they strongly push them because your warranties for your drives are void if not mated with Merc engines. They are a T.E.A.M member: Total Engine Application Management (T.E.A.M.). Skater, MTI, OL, etc are all too, but do tons of custom power setups.

How many RPM's do you think those Sterlings will spin?????

Sounds like a good V-hull motor for big boats.
|
Not to much longer
No replacement for displacement, pump gas.
