Pimp Daddy "Big Poppa" Helps Shore Dreams DASH FOR CASH!!!
Toms River, NJ June 24, 2008 - This past weekend, the New Jersey Performance Powerboat Club (NJPPC) hosted their 11th annual Atlantic City Poker Run at Trump Marina Hotel & Casino.
The Shore Dreams For Kids Charity Auction, now in it's 3rd year running, was held Friday night during the NJPPC Poker Run Dinner in the Ragatta Room. This year's auction had more items for the Chinese Auction as well as the regular auction than ever! An absolutely amazing job was done by Shore Dream's very own Geralyn Monroe! Geralyn spent hours upon hours procuring auction items and then creating ticket boxes for each auction item with the manufacturer's logos!
The auction kicked off and a few hours later after gas gift certificates, shirts, jackets, golf gear, logo plates, coolers, Free Poker Run Entries, etc....were all gone we raised $10,000 towards Shore Dreams For Kids this year!
Victoria Rothwell of Trump Marina also suprised us with a few thousand dollars worth of signed sports memorabillia last minute!
THANK YOU TO ALL OF THE MANUFACTUERS, DEALERS AND MARINAS WHO DONATED AUCTION ITEMS!! THEY WERE GREATLY APPRECIATED!
Tim Sharkey covered the event and all photos of the auction can be founds at: http://sharkeyimages.zenfolio.com/p911723527
Shore Dreams For Kids originally started as “Day On The Bay” back in the late 1970's. The Day On The Bay Foundation successfully produced this event for over 20 years and made it what it was up until it’s last year in 2000. NJ Performance Powerboat Club restarted this great annual tradition in 2003 and has been growing the event ever since!
The day benefits Special Olympic Athletes, Make a Wish children and several more children with challenges or illnesses.
