I'm pretty tired of hearing about how Reggie can $hit nickles.

Don't these guys realize that this garbage makes more people into Fountain haters than Fountain lovers? I get asked alot about boats. I rarely if ever will recommend a Fountain- because of crap like this.

The last 3 weeks of BS on here has certainly made me realize that I will NEVER own a Fountain.

Endless "Press" Releases, Trash Talking Propoganda Videos and posts, Inconsequential Record Setting Releases. The adage "no publicity is bad publicity" isn't fool proof.

Marketing department must have been working hard this week to get that stock price up over a buck........

I love this line..... "As the XXX team ran all over the course on the way back to Haulover Inlet, Furshman stayed on course and passed the bigger more powerful boat to claim bragging rights as the first V-bottom to finish."

BLee 06-25-2008 01:28 PM

I just wish AMF, Budweiser, or CRC could surprisingly come strolling up to the start at one of the Cat Dinner's planned runs.

Put them in a building somewhere close by, stay at a different hotel than the event HQ, order room service, TELL NO ONE, and roll up minutes before the flag drops with a non Fountain owned chopper present.

Now THAT would be a great ambush, and fun to watch! :evilb:

We'll be in Chicago again this year! Hopefully Cat Dinner won't blow an engine like last year, or TEAR APART like Miccosukee did in a lil rough stuff! :ernaehrung004:

BlackJack58 06-25-2008 01:35 PM

Not that I care one way or another, but even I had to laugh at the comment in the video that they were taking a "stealth" approach.

fountainracing65 06-25-2008 01:55 PM

Not a better boat in the world. Hater's go home. Sick of people pissing and moaning about Fountain add's. why don't you focus your f*cked up negative attitude tward the marketing going on by our foriegn auto makers.

dreamer 06-25-2008 02:11 PM

what about the comment " not a better time to enter the marketplace"........ r u for real?

as for the boat it is bad azz but no cat killer....

as for foriegn automakers.... i would never get an american car

RollWithIt 06-25-2008 02:16 PM

Its all propaganda. Not worth letting it get under your skin.

ScottB 06-25-2008 02:24 PM

I have Never owned a Fountain, Never lost to a Fountain(including Cat Killer) but I feel the need to add my comments.
Reggie Fountain has had the greatest positive impact on performance boating and offshore racing in the history of the sport since Don Aronow. I have nothing but respect for a man who has pretty much devoting his life to racing and building fast boats. I have been side by side with the Cat Killer at 140 mph in the ocean and its the most impressive V-Bottom I have ever run with. Marketing is all about Smoke and mirrors and Fountain Rules. Why get annoyed

LOL, yeah I definitely think ScottB knows what he's talking about.

Not for nothing, I love ALL high performance boats.

Why get annoyed? Well, I stopped reading PBM in large part because Fountain bought them off editorially. Now I come here and find that not only is the PR section of the website full of his BS, it's now in the discussion areas. In more than one place.

Will Reggie be hiring additional staff to provide professional reinforcement to every poster who wants to discuss and debate the merits of a Fountain? Will they step in themselves? Will every thread where the merits of another boat is being discussed, will a Fountain Agent step in and argue how the Fountain is superior? Where does it stop?

It doesn't stop, that is precisely the point. But you can stop it in your world by not clicking the mouse on these threads.
I personally think its extremely entertaining

Chris Sunkin 06-25-2008 03:15 PM

That sounds good in theory- but where does it stop? How many places do I have to avoid to not see him? Do I not come here altogether? If it works for Reggie, his minions will be in here like termites.

panicrev 06-25-2008 03:22 PM

like mr. scottb, i finding it entertaining myself. burns up time when work is dead.

Chris, I have to agree with Scott on this one. Why would one let something like this even remotely effect ones outlook. Just look at it like Scott said, very entertaining. No bash, just an observation.

Anyone seen this vid? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qu4Fm....php?p=2602075

Coolerman 06-25-2008 06:41 PM

Ya know, Reggies marketing could be a lot more tactfull, and I think he'd sell more boats. Now doubt that the "Cat Killer" runs well (although not as well as some). Here's another vid I found.... looks pretty fast to me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a7Ntn...eature=related
