Boathouse Pictures

Anybody got some pics of their cool boathouse?

I know in Northern Ontario we love our boathouses, not sure if it is big thing with you American dudes.

My family is planning on building a 'camp' (Northern Ontarian for cottage/lake house)in about 5-10 years on Lake Nipissing and we are already talking about a very serious boathouse similar to the one my buddy has with launch ramp, lifts, full shop, 3-4 slips, dockside gas pump, etc....basically identical to the one in which my boat lives now (my buddie's).

Love to see em if you have em.

I will snap some pics of my uncles and his neighbors on Lake Winni. Both are great

Docmanrich37 here on OSO made his living building them for many years. He probably has some good pics somewhere.

I just sold my 55X30 boathouse. Bought a 66X35. Now I'm waiting on the Army Corp of Engineers for a permit to place it. This is after I had to hire a biologist to write an Enviromental Impact statement. I'm starting to run out of patience. This has been in the works since January.

here are a few shots over the winter..did a few more changes and just got it finished. Added another walkable floating dock to the launch, finished the ramp, and now am adding a few more larger poles in the water so that 4 friends can back up their boats and have something to tie up on.

Unfortunately, we can't build elaborate boat houses because they might obstruct water flow in the event of high water. Just basic poles and a roof.

Those are just plain cool. We don't see those on the south end of Lake Michigan.

I just added Lake Nipissing to my list of favorite waterway names. It's running a close second to Assawoman bay. :D

Unfortunately here in MD, if you don't have an existing boat house, they won't even let you put up a tarp roof over your boat. And that's the least of our problems. I'm fighting for a standard 70ft pier permit and i have 450ft of waterfront. Plus we can be fined up to $10,000 per day for ANY critical area "violations".

Man i hate local politics.

I've always loved this picture. The boathouse is somewhere in the Muskoka region ...

That I believe is an old pic of the inside of Port Sandfield Marine back when they sold Donzi's too.

bluellama 07-28-2008 06:37 PM

There is about 20 some years of Donzi models there. I'm pretty sure the yellow boat is an early barrleback, and the black boat is a blackhawk edition.
