Default Yacht off FL Keys that ran aground during hurricane?

There was a thread on a huge yacht that ran aground and had a bunch of house boats tied up beside it guarding it. There was a some pic's from space and on the water. Does anyone have the rest of the story or any more pic's?

It's still in Key West. Legacy was blown into shallow water by a hurricane. Recently re-floated. We went right by it as we came in to Key West a couple weeks ago for the Cancun speed run.

Do a google search on the name of the boat and it will lead you to a website that has the whole story and pics on it. Very interesting story. That mulit millionaire living out there on a house boat next to his yacht. WTF?I guess the insurance wont cover the loss.

Hey Jayboat is that picture after they re-floated it? So it has for sure been re-floated? The owner was talking about building some huge canal to get it out. Crazy focker!

The shot is from July 10.

Yeah, they found some outfit that figured a way to dig it out- there's a thread on here somewhere that followed the story and has some good detail, I'm just too lazy to search it.

That shot is the good side, the other side is kinda beat up. And the flotilla was still near it.

Naw, the Legacy has ben pulled out happened about Feb.
It never sank just grounded on high storm surge. But was really
trashed by the storm.

The owner was living with security next to the yacht to prevent
looting and claims of salvage.

The ship yard that built her says she is on the way back and will
be new again by 2010.

The gov is still figuring price of eco damage and restoration of said eco. That will be the big expense !
