Anybody know what happened to this wrecked Cigarette?

Found this boat on Ebay. Does anybody know or can think of what happened to it.

Like the indian in that old littering commercial, I think a tear just rolled down my face... :(

I'm curious as to how far back from the point of impact you would have to repair?

29Firefox 07-05-2008 09:43 PM

It's gonna take some skills to do right:p

Griff 07-05-2008 11:16 PM

Looks like a stuff and peeled the deck back

Pantera1 07-06-2008 07:14 AM

It does look like "stuff" damage.. IMHO that boat is good for scrap.

sommerfliesby 07-06-2008 07:33 AM

If that's a 1984....why is it labelled as a Top Gun? That'd be a Flatdeck, no?

offthefront 07-06-2008 07:34 AM

kinda Ironic ......

This boat did NOT sink! Engines built by Shipwreck Marine in Michigan

Here is the guys response to how the boat ended up like this. "Someone did try to repair it but never finished. The boat was hit from the
rear clipping the outdrives, they were removed as they were not salvageable.
The front hit another boat but did NOT sink!"

here are pictures of it I could not post before.

Pantera1 07-08-2008 11:15 AM

That boat is worthless scrap.. strip it and crush it

Reed Jensen 07-08-2008 11:44 AM

The current bid price would cover the cost of a used trailer.

It would barely recover the disposal fee

Phantom1 07-08-2008 05:35 PM

Checking out the deck, it looks like an easy conversion to the first Cig bowrider..........

landfills are calling for that junk pile

I just finished a repair like this one it took me two years.
Put way more money in it than it was worth.
Will never even get half my money back in todays economy.
Please do that boat a favor haul it to the dump.

I pity the poor neighbors when the buyer of this work-in-progress parks it in his driveway for the next 10 years.
