And for those of you who haven't skied in a while....My kids talked me into it this weekend. After 8 minutes of torture, I hit the water at about 25 MPH.....Not good....Not good at all!!

Not my boat, but these guys have built a few of these now, one with a 1075 Merc was running around 120mph, but this is a whole different level

The PFM (Priest Family Marine) Engine is a 1700 Turbo Charged Intercooled, 555 cubic inch Chev Block. After testing ....the recorded speed of the day, at only 60% throttle, was a whopping

damn that drive looks sick on such a small boat!! my dream is to have a similiar set up on a 25-28 ft boat with an all aluminum bbc at the 800 ci range with a 6 drive. fresh water cooling off course and i like howard custom boats for the hull...anyhoo

I am going to say it is kicked up at the end as when the boat is running at speed, the length of the un-modified tab would have it creating downforce, even when fully retracted.
With the "kick" in it, I would assume it would run clear of the surface and not exert any force on the boat.
