Underwater acetylene torch

Anyone have any experience using an oxy-acetylene torch underwater?

Is there something special? I tried dunking my lit torch in a bucket and it went right out! I would have thought it would stay lit as the oxygen is supplied.

It used to work on Sea Hunt.

The problem is the gas you are using - for underwater work you need oxy hydrogen if you are below 33'. Also they use compressed air around the nozzle.

Here is what we use at work

Only 5 feet max. Just trying to warm a bronze prop stuck on a tapered shaft. If it's too big a deal I'll just haul the boat. My puller & a 1/2 impact did nothing.
