Avanti boats

Anybody know about the early 80's 27'hull.
I'm just looking for a hull that will run in the 70's and be safe.
The one I found may be a good buy, but I will look the weekend.
Thanks Tom :)

Tom,

Where is the boat? Is it being sold privately or at Avanti? I think I may know the boat that you are looking at.

Missmymoney,
I have a 1987 27' Avanti. It's been completly redone, it's a good hull. 7' beam and not a lot of storage space , but it handles the rough stuff very well. It has a 454 420HP with a bravoI. It runs 71 gps WOT. If your thinking of buying it directly from Avanti (Denis Freidmann) I would be very carefull. Mr. Freidman is the biggest piece of Sh*t you will ever meet. If you buy anything from him, be prepared to get screwed. There are numerous complaints on record at the Burlington County Consumer Affairs office registerd against him.

I had an 87 twin o/b that I bought new and thrashed and ran at full throttle its whole life. I had on small stress crack by the fuel filler. Thats it. Don't hold their value but they ride great. 7 foot beam!

Hey Tom.....

Is that Avanti local???? If so i may know which one it is. Have you looked at one of these hulls before?? Not very deep = small cabin = little headroom. From the info you told me before, I don't think this is the type of boat your looking for (too small). Stick with the 29 - 31's.

Let's see. we have answers.

Hull seems to hold up well.
Builder in NJ is a Jerk

Still more info please
Thanks Tom

What else do you want to know about the 27' Avanti? I have totaly redone mine, new motor, drive ,gauges and interior. I will be getting it painted this winter.

Pros: Well built hull
Runs fast
handles well, especially in rough water

Cons: 7' beam
Small cabin, very little headroom
little to no storage
The Builder is a JERK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Zitto111
Any major problems found when rebuilding yours?
Stringers good, glass work good?
I went on there web-site and looked at the used boats.
Very high on price. Only one older with outboards.
Do you have stand-up seating?
I live only 5 miles from there shop but have never been there because, everybody says the same thing (jerks).
All i'm looking for is a toy to blact around in.
Zitto where do you run your boat?
Thanks Tom

Missmymoney,
there is a 95 formula 30 on crashedtoys.com it was sitting in a building that had a fire and has some yellowing on the hull and it says it buff's out, but it's at 27,000 with a trailer 159 hours on it, and if I was looking for something in that price range, that I had to fix up a bit, this would fit the bill real good, check it out there's pics and details on the site. I think its somebody troutly knows up in. minnesota.http://www.crashtoys.com/inventory.html

Somebody should pick up this boat
