There is a product I use called SLX. My marina recommended it and it works great. And I don't know what's in it but it doesn't burn your skin, and it doesn't seem to damage the trailer (aluminum) . It also doesn't have the harsh smell that the On/OFF, SnoBowl, etc. cleaners have.

http://www.slimygrimy.com/homepage.htm

Available at Boater's World and West Marine.

Buy the 1 lb. tub (vessel as they call it)

Mix up in a garden sprayer per instructions.
Spray down trailer or lift with water.
Spray on Slimy Grimy with sprayer.
- - -It has an Enzyme as its active cleaner which actually eats the stain off.
Spray it down with water again REALLY, REALLY WELL.
Then hand wash, REALLY REALLY WELL.

I do it a couple times a season, and the hull looks brand new each time.

Great info. I have Used On / OFF to remove it, just don't like it on my painted trailer. Was wondering more on the prevention side. This is a 91 model boat. Great ideas getting posted. Also there is no enough beer around for me to wet sand a 42:eek::cool-smiley-027:

I use RINGO, it is easy to use and easy on you as well. Wipe it on, let it set for a couple of min. then hose off.

I tried leverage for the first time this year and was very surprised. My boat is a 97 and after using leverage the yellow just wiped of with a sponge and water. It was very easy to apply that is why I did not think it would be this good.My neighbor and I store our boats on lifts and his bottom is stained yellow and does not wipe off He is going to use leverage as well he could not believe how easy mine cleaned up.I do not work for Leverage and I do not post very much but just thought I should speak up.

Is it mild or not?? That's the question. By U had BAD yellowing that would come back the next day. If it's just a waterline then use a chemical, FSR is good. If it's a permanent stain then try buffing like By U. If buffing won't do the job then try some light wetsanding. IF It's stained then you have to go Deeper. He stays on top of it with my Polish now and his hull is doing great!

The best advice is in the beginning. Put the Polish on when the boat is new!!! I try to visit with every manufacture, but it's hard to get through. I'm not claiming to have the perfect, solve all your problems Polish, but my numbers are great and my Marine Clean work speaks for itself. The Polish makes it allot easier to maintain.

Thanks Guys!

Donnie

Donnie how long will the polish/wax last on the bottom?

Every time Ive waxed it the end of the day it doesent bead water,I am guessing some of it wore off .

I'm in Mississippi our lake is pretty muddy, it will stain mine in places within 12 hours. It will stain any lite colors bathing suits, cant were white at all,Also it will not wash out, even with some bleach.

I know at Tickfaw,Louisiana it stains worse,There telling me its from all the cypress knees/trees etc, kinda like a tea bag, there water is not very muddy, alot clearer than ours.

When I go to the gulf coast ,it doesent stain, guess the water is cleaner, maybe its the salt?

I once waxed my transom with the Meguiars ntx wax ,it made it worse like it attracted dirt, made the scum line harder to get off,I think it something in the NTX wax.
