My 26' Wellcraft Nova is for sale, sounds like a great fit and the right price range. Would be happy to tell you more about it if you're interested. It's been a great boat, I'm just looking for something a little longer to run at LOTO.

I have a 21 powerquest on a trailer. I has a 350 mag and an alpha drive. New cockpit cover new interior, well, new everything. I am the second owner, and have all the original paperwork.

Looked at an older checkmate, complete piece of junk. Guy still had leaves in the engine compartment. What hull/engine/drive combo will get me at least 70 mph + and be reliable?

There seem to be some checks and Baja's around that have had HP 500's installed in them. My old 250 Sport had a 500/565 hp, if I remember right it ran in the lower-mid 70's. A base 502 425hp, is not a 70 mph boat in those heavier Deep V hulls like the Outlaw. An HP 500 to a Bravo would be reliable. The faster boat in this category is the 253 convincer. My first boating group was a 253 convincer, 25 pursuader, My 250 Baja, and a 237 PQ Stryker, and that convincer was always the fastest of the stockers. That boat would run 70 with a stock 502. For speed in this category, it's definately one to look at. His was a 98, but that hull goes back to the late 80's. MR
