Well, OK then!!!!

I think is great. not only for powerboats, but for jobs in that area of NC.

Correct me if I'm wrong but when Baja closed they laid everyone of permantly with no chance for a job at fountain. Now he gets a grant if he hires local people. If this is the case what a big fu to the people who worked very hard to build the Baja name and reputation.
I'm sure there where around 250 people who worked at Baja in Ohio and if he is going to ad people he will also have to build space so why not just keep the plant in Ohio. I do respect Reggie for trying to save his company any way he can but I do not see how adding a company that brunswick could not make profitable will make him profitable. When this first happened I thought Ok he is going to use existing work force and facilities and build Baja's I could see how it could work. But it looks as if he plans to add employees and I assume more facilities so that will make it a lot harder. Maybe he should stop and look at some (not all) demographics for both of his boat lines and rethink his postion. Thats all for now but I'm sure I will have more on this topic. |

I'm sure the good people of North Carolina are going to be just thrilled to know their tax dollars will be going to subsidize this guy's racing hobby.

It's North Carolina, not Ohio. I would assume Fountain has no control on "conditions" of a Grant, and I think this grant is NC's way of assiting him while employing their own (NC)people. So, you need to blame Ohio if blame needs to be made.

I was thinking along the same lines here, but also I have to wonder if those same people know about all the non english speaking Mexicans he has working there for peanuts. A buddie of mine was there for the big factory sale and was given a"VIP" tour and thats all he saw working there, or how bout them out back pluck'n chickens on there break for dinner, I think maybe the tax payers need to take an unanounced tour of there own:eek:
In this case, just one more nail in the Ohio coffin, and an uncertain future for the Baja brand. Shareholders are likely screwed anyway. |
