the 40ss seems to be the OSO favorite, and it has been mine as well, however my dock is only 14 x 36, so the 37ss has been in our radar, anyone had much time in one?

There are some sick cary's and magnum's that will hit 70+ and put all these boats to shame.

Fountain Express Cruiser........

As mentioned above - I'd buy two boats.

A 70 mph magnum would likely set you back two mil plus.

I had a friend attempt to build a fast cary 50. 4 572's on #3's. If I recall, the speeds were close to 70. The fuel consumption? Unimaginable.

Got an Azimut 46 this spring coming out of a Cig Tiger with 1000HP #6's.

The two kinds of boating do not compare, apples and oranges.

Trying to make a compromise sucks sort of like an enduro bike.

My solution is work my arse off and to be able to afford a Skater or Gladiator next year if the "I feel like the savings account needs vacuuming" feeling hits me for running a +90 mph offshore rig again...

Of course while keeping the Azimut to sleep, carry the beer/vodka/food/spare parts....., lodge the family and so forth...

Quite the f@cking hobby I have myself into...

SWEET boat Jassman- are you still thinking of buying a Cobra? :)

Thanks..love the boat...as to the Cobra, Im holding off at the moment. My neighbor owns a Dodge dealership and has a silver and Blue 09 Challenger 1-6 speed manual 3:93 gears and 1 automatic coming in about 90 days. To save funds by not having to have a 3rd car we opted this way. Sandy will drive it most of the time and if Im good:rolleyes: I get to on weekends.:grinser010:

I would love to have a 43 NorTech, I think that would be the best combo for overnighting and speed... I'm 6'-6" so for some of these boats to say they have a stand up cabin or head may not apply to me. Coming from a 36 Concept to my 400SS was night and day, the next boat will definately have a Gennie and A/C...

A generator with A/c and heat is a must..the 40ss is an awesome boat. I just wish Formula would put in the larger 480 hp Yanmars or Cummins along with some ASD-8's...that would be one hell of a package.
