boat has many uses, yeah as in a plug for a new mold and you can be like a million other "splashed" powerboat builders.
That is all that piece is good for.

Throw a liner in it, then hook a trolling motor reversed on the transom. Towable Jacuzzi! Impress your friends! Why go boating on the water when you can go watering on the boat?

Ted didn't laugh at the boat burning. It burned some time ago. That is the (tragic) past. If Ted had stood next to the boat as it burned and laughed at it, your reaction would be quite appropriate. But he didn't. He is pointing out the ad, and the description contained within it.
