Switch pitch prop ????

A buddy of mine just picked up a little 21 Sea Ray with a 305 and alpha drive, Are those props any good or are they junk. I have never seen one in person.

Junk from what I have read.

If its a land and sea shiftable, just get rid of it. Seen a few of those busted by light weight ski boats.

He just has a old prop on it now needs a new one and asked me about the Switch Pitch. If you happen too know what the best prop for a 21 Searay with a 305 and a alpha drive let me know.

Had the Land and Sea one on my 22' Pachanga. When it worked, it worked great, which was about 1/2 the time.

Tried one on a 20ft Baja years ago. When it worked it was kind of cool, but like US1 said it only worked about 1/2 the time ,or less. I got rid of it.

I'd email the resident Alpha expert and ask him- I'm sure he could make a recomendation that would get the Searay into Triple Digit speeds. Hmmmm now what was his name.... ;)

LapseofReason 08-11-2008 08:51 PM

No thanks I would rather smash my thumb with a hammer.

Powerquest230 08-11-2008 09:12 PM

So little time so many smart alecs...

Seriously try calling BBlades or Throttle-Up for a reccomendations. They should be able to point you in the right direction without smashing anything.. Will probably be a commonly available prop if you don't find one reasonable on the swapshop you can try craigslist..

good luck with it,
Rick
