Pro Charger Question
Hey guys,
A buddy of mine found a nice M1 Pro Charger that only has a couple hours for a good price with the whole set up. Wondering what my Saber 28 with a 500hp 502 with a stock Bravo One w/o ext steering would have for reliability. Engine mildly built with 100 hrs on it. With 4-5 lbs of boost what do ya think I would get up to, being conservative with it. I am running 63-64 gps at 5K RPM now. Dont have any experience with superchargers but it seems like an easy way to gain HP w/o a ton of expense. Whats your opinion on reliability and how would my drive hold up? Any thougs would be helpful. Thanks, MIKE. |
It is carbed...

I would also look into external steering for safety. Better safe than........

I was kind of figuring that but i do have a deep x-dimension and it helps with chatter but its a different story at 75:drink:

what's the compression on that engine you have now???
|
9:1, i think. It has a mild cam and was built solid with reliability.

Should be able to run 3-4lbs make sure you have it tuned properly. A good tune, good maintenance, fuel and ignition setup will provide good reliability.

You can not just slap this on a carb motor. Dean Nickerson is the only one that I know of that can set the carb up correctly for the carb application. Do not try and go cheap - it will cost you in the long run.

I was going to have the guy that built my engine put it on and dial it in on his dyno. I didnt plan on doing it myself by any means. Just wondering what other people's experiences have been and advice. Thanks and anything else would be great. MIKE
