25 and 29 Vs

28 deckboat

32 cat

bouyhunter 08-09-2008 12:19 PM

Good luck.
Especially in this market/industry.
Definitely a West Coast type boat.
Not quite my style.

Do you like the cat? Looks like a small MTI which is not a bad thing IMO. :)

DollaBill 08-09-2008 12:53 PM

I guess they are cute. Def a small lake boat. I guess it's a niche market.

Airpacker 08-09-2008 04:42 PM

the cat looks like a direct rip off of the new Ultra 32.

344 which is a nice boat too. Ron Ehde(Eliminator) designed the PP32. He's not in the habit of splashing hulls.

Rik 08-10-2008 12:53 AM

I think I can read 'ROB KING" all over that cat design drawing espically on the bottom right side. :D

Hot Knots 08-10-2008 01:30 AM

Well Rik your eyes must be better than mine because I don't see it.

29Firefox 08-10-2008 01:42 AM

Deja Vu

That Lago model from below the sheer line sure looks a lot like a Minx or a Z-25:crazy:

Look close.

There is no question who drew this drawing. Who makes the plug and pops the mold is a totally different matter.

I'm not much of a Cat guy, I've got two dogs.:grinser010:

I'm more into the old-school vee's.
Big heavy resin bucket, wave crusher, mega-hp to push the heavy old beast, classic "sharp" lines, beefy rubrail...

While the capped deck/hull can look pretty trick, it just doesn't seem practical. I think it looks good on larger (longer/leaner) boats, but kinda makes a boat of this size look like a toy.
Don't mean to be brutally honest, and this is only my opinion, but,
They look "cute".
Just not the look I'm going for.

copiercat 08-10-2008 09:45 AM

I think the cat boat would be awsum with a pair of outboards and maybe a diet to slim it down to a 26 or 28,I would be intersted in one,if I could ever sell what I got !

Sick Stinger 08-10-2008 09:52 AM

I like the cat with a set of 700sci's 496's just dont do it for me.

I'd rather have the Ilmor710s.

Payton 08-10-2008 04:04 PM

I like the look of the boats. The cat looks very cool. On the 29 is there no rubrail or is it painted to match the sides?
I say good luck with the new boat company!!
I really can't believe these guys that can only say something negetive.

I second Payton!

Best of luck with your new boats!!!

bouyhunter 08-10-2008 06:27 PM

I'm not trying to be negative at all.
And I wish all the luck in the new venture.
The boats just don't have a look I care for, and I stated my opinion.
What's wrong with that??

chromecat 08-10-2008 06:30 PM

The cat looks kewl if it is 40'-50' long, but that looks like an rc boat in my opion... The back seat looks tiny also is that usable..
Don

It's a left coast puddle jumper thing. They get trailered out to some small lake or reservoir are launched from the beach or a county ramp, run around, anchor in shallow water or beach like the one in the pic, at the end of play get put back on trailer and go home to the heated garage. They never get near a dock. They don't raft up cause the party is on the beach. So by the law of natural evolution the rub rail went away. No rub rail means the paint and graphics can be continuous across the shear. Looks real nice at the gas station, the McDonalds parking lot and going down the freeway.:p

johnlomant 08-10-2008 07:31 PM

The new cat looks great cant wait to see it finished

I cant agree just because not a fan of the 10 cyls just an old school V-8 guy i guess plus i love the sound of a blower. I mean why not just opt for the 1075's with a set of #6's behind it or just have Gellner build you a sweet set of Biggie's
All in all i love the look of the cat and good luck i hope they sell like hot cakes and maybe i can get my hands on one someday
