Mercury 575sci Help!!!!!
I was having problems with starting on my 575.Motor was flooding out when starting. After doing a little trouble shooting i found that the fuel regulator in the front throttle body spring bottom had broken letting fuel just dump into the throttle body.It looks like a diafram with a spring.mercury part #852955 is the diafram and housing $200.00.All i really need is the diafram and gasket. After checking, the part # is no longer available from mercury. My guy is going to check with mercury racing about what the replacement might be.My question is,has anyone had this problem? Is there a GM part # for the diafram regulator?Any help would be great. Thanks

There has to be someone out there with a 575sci that had this problem.I talked with mercury racing today.no GM part # just "oh well".you spend $52,000.00 for a motor and drive and five years later "oh well"Just remeber that next time you spend your hard earned money on over priced motors and drives and five years later no parts or part numbers!Has anyone switched out there oem throttle bodies for aftermarket?Iam going to head down to my GM dealer and see if i can match something up.

Sounds like you got an idiot at Mercury Racing who didn't want to do his job. That is an actual part number, you just need to get a hold of a authorized dealer. I don't think a regular GM car dealership will work. Call Gellner Engineering 216-398-8500. They have worked on a number of 575s and he knows those engines very well inside and out. They are also authorized Mercury Marine.

Aren't the throttle bodies just GM big block truck parts ? if they are , can't you go to GM parts ? they should be available
