Default How many hours for a Verado before rebuild / replace

I have been seeing a lot of hours being put on the Verado and hear they are going into the 1000's of hours. It seems to me that since it breaks the rule of more than 1 hp pe cu. it wouldn't last long. I kinda put it at a 400-500 hp v8 over 500 hours and you better have a plan. I am talking about the 250 hp and up Verados, what are the real hours they should go.

Met some guys in the islands that were operating them on a couple of Midnight expresses that went along with their 150+ ' Fedship type yachts and they had way over 700 hrs of operations on them without a hickup one.
They are truely amazing motors as far as I'm concerned.

We've got over 800 hours on a pair of 225's on a work boat. Had a bunch of sensor related problems early on but the motors have been flawless.
A customer has a pair of 275's on a 35 donz and he's run them at WFO for 400 hours so far. The coast Guard auxillary "cowboys" also have a set that has lasted longer then any other outboard they've run.

I was talking to the Fountain Direct Rep, at the Richmond Boat
Show and he said they had a center console with 275hp Verados traded in with over 1200 hrs. on both motors. They run copression tests and leak downs and both motors checked out great. I have 2 300hp Verados on mine with only 25 hrs. I will let you know how they hold up. Great running engines, I am very pleased so far.

I have a Customer that brings his boat in once a week to get the oil changed on his Verados, he has 3 275s on his Donzi 38ZFX in 2 years and has over 700 hours talk about a serious fisherman
