Duane Tonks is clearly a retard. I bet ol' duane was a tryin to jump that cruiser wake, spilled his beer, and got tossed when he and wife reached down to get it.

Well, a 17' foot boat - safe to say it wasn't what we call a performance boat, and wouldn't have had a lanyard...just like most "recreational" boats. Just bad/stupid driving beyond the boat and the driver's capabilities. Or else just not paying attention....
