just my 2c

On Image intensifiers for operating a boat. Go with the binocular types. The monocular types kill your depth perception. What good is it if you can see it but can't judge how far away it is. Also Gen 3 at a minimum but be careful gen 3 and higher come under export control laws. Its always good to have radar in close quarters its better than GPS for determining position. FLIR is great but expensive as hell. Last unit I put in for a customer totaled out a little over $30k plus he wasn't too happy with the way the R2D2 looking unit looked.
