35 fountain low windshield wanted.

I have a 2000 fountain Lightning with it's "tall" windshield. I am looking to update the boat by changing this for the newer style, lower profile windshield that comes on the newer lightnings. I beleive the same windshield fits the 35 or 38. Any Ideas or info?

35, 38, 42 should all be the same windscreen. Apparently, from what I've been told, when they went from the Taylor Made (tall windshields) to their inhouse built windshields, the top deck mold was changed slightly, making one side of the newer windshield 5/8" too long for the older top decks. No big deal I'm told, and I'm fairly sure they just bolt them right on top and it goes unnoticed. Tony from Fountain can get you a price on a complete windshield, or you can cut down the factory windshield as long as you have access to some top rail extrusion. If anyone's interested I do have a takeoff spare 2000 Taylor Made if anyone wants to cannibalize some top rail. Just be forewarned, there ARE differences between the Taylor Made and Fountain built windshields. All they they "appear" identical, the Fountain extrusions wall thickness is greater, and they use 3/8" glass as opposed to Taylors 1/4"
