Haven't seen your yet, but I've been looking into them. My little "clean it up & use it" project is quickly turning into the world's most expensive 35 flat deck.

I may be your way in a few weeks.

IB isn't and will never be on the radar of any self respecting business school.

My guess is it goes (((POOF))) and everyone will carry on elsewhere.

Look into IB. Look at the scale, look at the agressiveness of the acqusitions. Look at their P and Ls that are posted online. Look at their financials. Look at the unbridled lust to garner traffic and own all forums. 50 million in acquistions in the first six months of 2008. All for clicks. Like a new kind of monopoly that is legal. Frankly... at some point RICO comes to mind. For people who actually are interested in business... this is a new animal. A hungry new animal. This will be looked back and studied like the phenom of the tech boom, as a one shot deal that could only happen once in the learning curve as the commerce follows the tech. This model will be talked about.... already is.

Curious what you do, what is the size of the organizational budget under your supervision, and what business school that you attended?

OSO could poof. Especially as the cool people leave and a bunch of registered transient posters continue to roll through to see what's left.

Switching gears: I wondered this morning which could be accomplished faster.... starting a new forum and being bought out by IB, or getting IB to fix this one.

We could probably start a forum, and through grassroots marketing get enough traffic on it to get IB's attention and get an offer from them within a very short amount of time. Content wouldn't matter. Quality wouldn't matter. Traffic and only traffic would matter. Got traffic? Get bought. Period.

If 75 people went to a new site, this place would be a shell.
