Gil Risers needed..

I have two sets of tall Gil Risers that won't fit under my hatch, to that end, I'm looking to sell or trade the tall Risers for 2 pairs of short Risers.

The measurement from bottom of the Riser flange to the top of the Riser is appx. 9 1/2 inches. (the short Riser is 3 inches shorter.)

(Alternatively, I need to know if another brand of riser will bolt on the manifold.)

All advice is appreciated!

I have Hardin Marine risers on my Gil manifolds.

I have a one set of gill short on the manifold side, standard height on the transom for a bravo available. I'm located in NY

I have a set as well. Will take a measurement to see if this is what you need.

Stainless Marine also sells a set that will fit on the Gils .. check their website. ;)

Working from home today, so I just took these this afternoon. The white you see on the insides is dust. Last ones.

Damndonzi, What's the measurement from the bottom of the flange to the top of the riser?

bpp944 08-24-2008 05:55 AM

Thanks for the input.

In the short term, I plan to sell the Gil risers and 2 pair of Stellings take-offs that are collecting dust.

How much too tall are they? I had a tall set, but I needed them for my staggered engines. 1 riser fit just under some fiberglass on the side of the engine compartment. I brought that riser to a friend with a welding shop. He cut it down just over 2" and TIG welded it back together. The bung is now 1" from the flange. I polished all of the welds and you can't tell it from any of the other risers.

So it sounds like it's not a catastrophic issue. At my closest guess, I'd say that the risers are 1-2 inches too high on the outboard side only. The inboard risers look like they will clear the hatch without modification.

Can anyone recommend a good welding shop in or around Charlotte NC that could do the work?

Do you have these still?

I do. Sitting in my garage as you read this.

Now this is impressive, 13 years later and not only got a reply but the risers are still available, made my night 😂🤘

Can you message me your number or post it here? I want to verify this will work for my set up.
