Nice boat ... beautiful day!

fobes 08-24-2008 04:31 PM

Thanks guys. Docking there can be tricky, you are not allowed to broadside, have to stern in and hope your boat is there when you get back.

BOBCATMATHEWS 08-24-2008 04:52 PM

cool, I love a morning boat ride(donuts are a bonus)

Nice trip we did it a few times from the Painted gas tanks before they closed the ramp there pre 911, and also would trailer to hingham put in there. and go there and into Boston for the day. hey were you in plymouth last year or year before thought I saw that boat at brewers marina at the trans slips? artie

fobes 08-24-2008 07:10 PM

Artie: wasn't me in the Warlock a few years ago, this is my first season with it but it is a local boat.
Morning boat rides are great and yes donuts make them even better.

Nice to see you are enjoying your boat with your offspring. My kids are grown up now and anything less than wave jumping at 75+ is boring to them.

I miss those days like you are enjoying now. You are blessed.

scottmori 08-25-2008 01:22 PM

boat looks great. how is water in boston harbour and surrounding area? i have a formula 242 sr-1 and always boat in narragansett bay but would like to go to plymouth and up to boston.
scott

fobes 08-25-2008 05:16 PM

Thanks again guys, I feel blessed to enjoy days like that. Used to be wide open from start to finish but now just idling around works just as well (with the occasional blast to clear out the cobwebs) and is usually much cheaper.
Boston Harbor is beautiful. There is a lot to do and the water is probably cleaner now than it has been in years. It does get rough in certain areas especially with all the large boat traffic. If anyone plans to come up let me know and we'll hook up.
Matt

You guys should hit up Mount Hope Bay got a few guys from the board that blast around. I should be back up and running by next weekend. Motor comes back wensday.

Looks like a great day !

Nice pics.Fobes !
It's a great place to bring the kids and let'em explore.Yup,docking can be tricky in there.

Scott,
It's a great place to boat. You really need to follow the channels . It can get confusing with channels crossing each other sometimes. Pulling into Boston is awesome tho.
I need to make it up the Charles River sometime. I usually boat Narraganset Bay also and make Fall trips up there.

Anarchy Powerboats 08-27-2008 08:47 AM

So you can actually boat into the city?

SPITFIRE 08-28-2008 05:55 AM

Yes you can, right up the harbor, over to Charlestown, by the Aquarium, the North End etc. You can head over to the locks too and go up the Charles river. Bill

Its been ten years since I was up the river with my dad and so searays, we gave them a head start cause my dad had a hard time parking the trailer:eek: on our way out we made so much noise going under the bridges a statecop drove along the waters edge by the time we got to the locks the sp boat had someother people pulled over hahah. and in the locks the dry exhaust was so loud a party boat with a band could here us:eek: they gave us the thumbs up and we waited then jumped there wake. can't do that now no more 75mph runs up the inner harbor. and those cats are slow the cops have 75 I think its a plug from a old mold no steps 27ft long saw one being built over in hingham . its still a great place to check out and ALL INN fanuil hall market place its near the water, I may be around and could take the train in. art

My recommendations are as follows -
1st -
http://www.faneuilhallmarketplace.com/

2nd- Walking distance to waterfront-Jump on a tour boat. A trip over to Georges Island is neat.Where Fobes took his pics..
http://www.bostonharborcruises.com/
The Aquarium is also on the waterfront.
http://www.neaq.org/index.php

3rd-short drive to the South.
Outdoor restaraunts at a Marina& some performance boats
http://www.discoverquincy.com/marinaBay.htm-

Really not too many performance boats in the area.
Sorry for jumping all over your thread Fobes.Trying to help an O.S.O brother out.A least it's pushin it to the top.:p
